Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic lift trucks offer height and versatility. These units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck. The arm, or crane, is called a telescopic boom. The boom allows the individual utilizing it to lift the cargo to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Regular lift trucks could not move the cargo away from and towards the forklift cab, while a telescopic forklift could allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually used in both construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
A forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended in cases needing high volume carton handling. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to apply uniform clamping force when picking up a load. It is available with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck will normally use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is useful for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A lift platform which is designed to lift employees is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a strap or chain is utilized to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the personnel from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
