Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model however, utilizes a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and move unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting loads from one location to another. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles which could function in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of machine during cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
