Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A type of machine that can carry loads which are about 30,000 lbs is a forklift. A forklift is also called a counterbalance. Despite being sturdy and large, these industrial machines still carry the potential risk of accident or crash. In order to be safe, be sure to have operators wear the correct seat belt in the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are on board. We all know that seat belts can save lives in case of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
Three-point seat belts can extend across the upper body and over the lap. These types of belts provide an extra degree of safety by protecting your body. They are offered in both bucket-seat and bench-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are available in either non-retractable or retractable kinds.
Retractable seat belts are usually utilized in the majority of modern vehicles available. Although non-retractable styles increase safety, retractable styles offer much more comfort. It is really not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
The type of seat belt that only extends over the lower part of the body is a two-point lap belt. Most lap belts feature a push-button closure system and are non-retractable. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and the two sides will separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the kind which force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These types of seat belts have a micro-switch attached which sounds an alarm if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band types.
