The S-boom telescopic booms manufactured by Genie have been outfitted with a reach ranging from 9.65 meters and 24.38 meters and an ability to work in heights of 14.20 meters to 40.15 meters. Telescoping booms have a much greater range of reach horizontally as opposed to other aerial work platforms. Genie telescopic booms are designed with consideration to being able to access confined areas during industrial and construction applications. They are also recognized for their ability to maneuver through a job site quickly and with great traction and drive speed. The platform turns 160° hydraulically and can stay level through the whole range. Front-entry platforms come with 227 kilogram to 272 kilogram capacity for operators and tools and are available from 1.83 meters to 2.44 meters. Continuous, 360° rotating turntables offer quick, easy positioning for operators.
The Z-135/70 unit comes outfitted with a Jib-Extend, which is a telescoping jib. It extends from 3.66 meters to 6.1 meters. This model could also reach 110° vertically to give the user the ability to reach tasks which were previously unreachable by traditional jibs. A secondary reverse-articulating boom on the Z-80/60 model gives the user 8.83 meters of up and over reach. This particular feature allows over and up reaching jobs to be completed with zero front arm swing.
Genie also provides the Fast Mast system which allows for precious time to be saved when both secondary and primary booms have to be lifted or for lowering the platform without having to lower the secondary boom. The Fast Mast system allows both booms to be fully elevated at the same time. Both of these features of the Genie Fast Mast system lessens the time required for users to descend and ascend, increasing effectiveness and productivity.
