The Carriage
The carriage is similar to a conventional forklift as the lifting attachment can be tilted forwards and backwards from its horizontal. The tilt that is possible on this machine exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There are various kinds of lifting attachments available, and this positioning ability makes them as efficient as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Some units have rotating carriages as well. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted forwards and backwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Figuring out a telehandler's load capacity is a a lot different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the model is entirely dependent on such things as: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. Moreover, which lifting attachment plays a really main part, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on and so forth. All of these specifics could be changing constantly and this gives the operator a lot more information to take into consideration.
Usually, telehandlers have several load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they could determine the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending upon the unit in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity may differ by thousands of pounds all together.
