Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in the year 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, as the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, as the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing telehandlers, stick booms, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic slump during the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered along with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers all over the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is devoted to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy equipment are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the benefits of a 48V DC machine.
Compared to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach overall. These machinery are ideal for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These machines provide the drive speed and supreme traction you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
